Overview:
The Marketing Director, Japan will work as an integral member of the company’s senior leadership team in Japan and Japan/Korea Commercial Leadership team, working closely with other business & functional leaders. This individual will review the country’s strategic business objectives and priorities in close collaboration with other functions to develop and execute strategic marketing plans, including marketing communications and digital marketing, that support sustainable differentiation ensuring profitable growth for the Crop Protection business unit.

- Profitable market share growth of the business through effective portfolio management and marketing strategy.
- Define strategic marketing plans, product management plans, territory marketing plans and campaigns and ensure their timely and effective execution on the ground.
- Lead the development and implementation of the digital marketing strategy.
- Coordinate as the primary interface with the Regional/Global Program and Product Segment Leadership.
- Manage country marketing budget, prepare strategic and tactical marketing plans and collaborate with regions to drive programs regionally.
- Ensure effective tools to support business development through customer segmentation, pricing system, project pipeline development, among others.
- Establish global best marketing practices, utilizing AIM marketing process to optimize on return of investments.
- Lead the program management process in Japan and guide local product concept teams (LPCTs) to work cross functionally to develop, evaluate and execute comprehensive development and commercialization plans for successful product launches.
- Manage, coach, and develop the marketing team in Japan.
- Steward the marketing team through the IBP Signature process with clear product x market assumptions and driving forecast accuracy
- Leverage strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to analyze insights (customer, distribution, competition, trends, etc.) to develop an informed category strategy, and product development initiatives for the company.
- Manage collaborations and establish agreements with industry partners as needed to enhance the Corteva business.
- Develop 3~5 years growth strategy for the Crop Protection business.
- A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Marketing or Business related field.
- Native Japanese and fluent business English
- At least 10 -15 years of professional experience in a commercial role (eg. Brand Management, Business Development, Sales/Marketing Leadership etc.)
- Marketing Expertise; relevant experience in marketing management and marketing communication.
- The ability to be comfortable with the unknown, ask questions, be inquisitive, be a self-starter
- Ability to dive in, position yourself for success by building relationships, learning quickly, and trying new things.
